In Hollywood, the three characters reappeared for Halloween Horror Nights 2008, with Freddy hosting the event himself. Each character appeared in his own maze based on the worlds created in New Line's film series and also in the advertisements for the events. Reportedly a three-year deal, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface were slated to headline both Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights: Carnival of Carnage and Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights 2007. In June 2007, Universal Studios announced that a deal had been reached to bring three of New Line's franchises to Halloween Horror Nights. Relationship with Halloween Horror Nights took over the company in 2008 and made it a division dedicated to low budget films. New Line continued to produce major film series, including the Austin Powers series and the film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, until Warner Bros. In 1994, the Turner Broadcasting System acquired the company. The company continued to produce the Nightmare on Elm Street series of films, which was its only major successful film series prior to 1994. In 1984, A Nightmare on Elm Street was released by New Line and became the company's first commercially successful film. New Line Cinema first began in the distribution of independent films, but soon began to produce their own films. In 2007, New Line made a deal with Universal Studios to bring three of their characters to Halloween Horror Nights. Hollywood Studios Target Sustainability as Big Production Goal.
